At the height of Linsanity, the marketing of Jeremy Lin was at a fever pitch. Although he never publicly endorsed any gimmicks, Lin’s name was attached to a variety of items from ice cream to even Vietnamese bahn mi sandwiches. Lin’s reticence may have been because there wasn’t ever a product he could get behind. But thanks to the San Francisco-based sandwich chain, Ike’s, Lin has found an item he can stand behind. His own turkey sandwich.

Ike’s, has an extensive menu which features sandwiches named after famous celebrities, athletes and personalities. Since Lin was traded to the Los Angeles Lakers this offseason, the Westwood location of Ike’s decided it was the perfect time to create a sandwich in honor of the guard.

Great choice by Ike’s to include turkey in Lin’s sandwich as that is his go to sandwich meat. From a 2012 Men’s Health article:

"For Lin—the Knicks point guard who has gone from anonymity to celebrity in one short month—the stakes are high. A win in golf free throws comes with the promise of a free turkey-and-avocado on wheat, hold the mayo."

All this talk about turkey brings up the eternal question, is it lunch yet?
