VIDEO: Goran Dragic brings a baby T-Rex to the arena to scare the Suns
By Ian Levy
The Phoenix Suns have a proud tradition of trying to scare the crap out of their players on Halloween. A couple of years ago, the Gorilla got Michael Beasley by popping out of a trash can, with the added bonus-fear of a clown costume.
This year, the Suns went high-tech, and Goran Dragic got to be in on the fun.
Yes, that’s a puppeteer operating a giant baby T-Rex, and yes, it did invoke everyone’s fight or flight response. An unofficial tally:
- Tyler Ennis: Flight
- Jeff Hornacek: Sidestep, which is probably technically flight, but Hornacek was barely rattled.
- Mark West: Fight. He backpedals a bit, but it’s only to size up the T-Rex. That dinosaur would have been mincemeat.
- Eric Bledsoe: Fastest flight on the team!
INTERMISSION: Flashback to last year, when Gerald Green punched the Gorilla for jumping out of a trash can.
- Gerald Green: COMPLETE AND TOTAL NO-SELL. TAKE THAT, HULK HOGAN.
- Archie Goodwin: Smart, smart, smart. Fight and flight. He hurls a gallon water bottle (#JUGLIFE) and flees.
- Anthony Tolliver: Flight, though given how off-guard he was, it’s impressive that he didn’t take off running.
- Zoran Dragic: Flight, with a dash of fight, in the sense that he put up his guard and prepared for the inevitable chomping of jaws.
- Alex Len: Feigns fight, but when the T-Rex snaps at him, flight kicks in.
- Robert Sarver: white-collar flight.
- The Morrii: Flight, in stereo! Although one — I have no idea which — sizes up the T-Rex afterward, so I guess that’s something?
