The Friendly Bounce Belt: Klay Thompson, man on fire

facebooktwitterreddit

Welcome back to the Friendly Bounce Belt, our weekly power rankings of awesome moments in the NBA. Last time, Trevor Booker took home the title for his insane overhead trick shot. Let’s see who took home the title this week.

The Champion: Klay Thompson and his record-breaking quarter

Who else could it be taking home the Friendly Bounce belt this week than Klay Thompson? This is an award created to celebrate the most awesome moment in the week that was in the NBA, and nothing was even close to Thompson’s third quarter masterpiece against the Sacramento Kings. The Warriors guard dropped 37 in the quarter, setting a new NBA record for most points in a quarter, on his way to a 52 point performance in the Warriors’ win.

The Contenders

John Wall’s between the legs pass

This was just flat out ridiculous. Like, that pass would be sick by All-Star game standards and Johnny Wall is just dropping it during a regular game. FLEX TO THE LEFT….

Hassan Whiteside’s 2k quote

I really didn’t know anything about Hassan Whiteside before a few weeks ago, and to be honest, I still don’t really know too much about him, but he based on this quote, he’s one of my favorite players of all time. Might gotta have to get this tattooed across my chest.

Kevin Durant’s dunk on Marcin Gortat

Damn, RIP Marcin. You know, for as great of a play of Durant is, this is the first time I can remember him putting someone on a poster in a long time. Maybe I’m wrong, but I don’t feel like he dunks on people that often.

Kyle Korver dunking

Truly a landmark moment in league history. This is how you know it’s the Hawks’ year. Korver throwing down dunks is just unfair. He already shoots threes like layups, he can’t be yamming all over the place now, too.

Brandon Jennings going off the glass to Andre Drummond

Aww man, this was like the last memorable thing for Jennings this year. Get back soon, Brandon. We need more plays like this.

Giannis being Giannis on the fastbreak

What? No seriously, what on earth??? He took four dribbles to go the whole length of the court and slam on a dude’s head. He was barely inside the three point line when he picked up his dribble!

Evan Turner’s game winner

Lol, okay Evan, we see you. This was the most improbable game winner of all time. The Celtics on the road against a Western Conference team with the game in Evan Turner’s hands? This was a miracle on the same level as Jesus walking on water.

James Harden’s game winner

This was so dirty. Hitting a buzzer beater is one thing, but crossing a dude up right before you hit it just makes everything so much better.
