BAE Index, 1/28/15: Steph Curry, basketball illusionist
By Ian Levy
Welcome back to the BAE Index.
Steph Curry’s pass
How could we not start with this brilliance. No one man should have all this playmaking ability. For some reason I just imagine Steph going, “it’s an illusion, Joakim” right before dropping that pass off to David Lee.
Giannis’ slam
Another show of great length and athleticism from our boy. Check out where he catches this pass. He’s a fairly decent distance outside the paint as he grabs the ball, then just takes a ridiculously long stride and jumps forward all the to the rim. Incredible.
Kevin Love’s outlet pass
So, so impressive. This is off a made basket too. Before anyone else (besides LeBron) on the court realizes what’s going on, Love has already snatched the ball and established position out of bounds so he can throw the inbounds pass. And then he just casually flings it the whole length of the court right into LeBron’s hands.
Rajon Rondo’s putback slam
Look at Rondo soaring for the dunk. He doesn’t do it very often, but low key Rondo can throw down when he decides to actually do it. But it is very #rare, and so we must cherish this moment.
Derrick Rose’s game winner
Yeeeshhhh. That step back happens so dang fast. There’s just nothing you can do on defense except hope that he misses. You have no chance of blocking that or getting a great contest. He’s shooting while you’re still trying to get to the spot he stepped back to.
