When the New York Knicks selected Kristaps Porzingis with the fourth overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, it was an important day for Latvia, Porzingis’ home country. He is the highest draft pick in Latvian history, and is held in very high regard back home.

In fact, a Latvian rap group called Transleiteris was so proud that they wrote a rap about Porzingis and even recorded a video for the song.

Now of course Google Translate isn’t perfect, but this is what we get when putting the video description through the translate machine:

"With pride and a sense of well-done work we offer their latest original songs – a tribute to the rising Latvian star Kristaps Porzingis. A song about the 100% nugget and similarity with any other compositions simply not possible."

The song is in Latvian, so I have no idea what they are saying except for the hook, which is just “Kristaps Porzingis” repeated over and over. But Kristaps himself tweeted out a link to it, so it must be pretty good.

It starts with the artists hanging out in an empty gym, but then quickly shifts to a rather empty bar where the duo is trying to talk to and dance with some beautiful women. And at one point one of the guys puts his feet up on a table but he isn’t wearing any shoes? Also every few seconds some Porzingis highlights are thrown in there. It’s quite the experience, to say the least.

Porzingis also had this to say to the group:

Which, apparently, translates roughly to “Haaa !! ?? Realistically good! Respect for their work! Thank you! SITA NYK locker room will be imposed on repeat ??.”

So there you have it, this video is officially endorsed by Porzingis. Get ready, New York media, sounds like you might be hearing this one in the locker room.
