NBA players have often shown support for their cities in times of need. And Detroit decided to do just that Thursday.

Detroit wore FlintNOW T-Shirts during warm-ups of the team’s nationally televised game against the Knicks to raise awareness to the Flint water crisis.

Pistons owner Tom Gores has been very supportive of the people of Flint, previously pledging $10 million to the city. Gores also sponsored 1,000 free tickets to Flint International Academy students as well as children in the YouthQuest program.

Gores has been supportive of the city for a while, and it’s nice to see the players show their support with the shirts as well. It may be a small gesture, but, combined with Gores dedication to helping the city, it could go a long way to helping Flint recover.
