Injuries are a terrible thing. Players who have put in an incredible amount of time and energy to getting better and in a position to succeed are suddenly sent to the sideline where all they can do is watch. Every once in a while though, an injury is a blessing in disguise for an NBA team as it allows them find a diamond in the rough that has been waiting for a chance. This season that happened to the Miami Heat as injuries to Beno Udrih and Tyler Johnson allowed for the emergence of rookie Josh Richardson, who has been a key part of the Miami bench during their second half hot streak.

On Thursday night Richardson continued his angry assault on the rim that he started when he first got on the floor with a very powerful jam against the Chicago Bulls.

Just a reminder that Richardson is a point guard. Who knows just how good Richardson will be in the long run but he has been great for Miami for a while. Hopefully he keeps getting minutes no matter what because he has been a blast since he finally got on the floor.
