LeBron James may have broken the rim with a dunk

LeBron James is good at basketball. Like very good at basketball. Yet somehow come playoff time LeBron finds a way to take his game to another level of greatness by using all the extra energy that he has saved up all season long. On Wednesday night the Detroit Pistons learned what that type of play looks like as James used a quick burst of speed to throw down an incredibly powerful two-handed dunk.

The dunk came in the midst of an early second quarter run that pulled the Cavaliers into the lead and was led by James. It started with a few pick-and-rolls, then James bullied the Pistons in the post before hammering home the jam.

The impossible part of stopping James on this play is finding someone stupid enough to willingly get in his way as he sprints towards the rim. At that point LeBron is a 250 pound freight train at his top speed meaning getting in his way is risking your life. Just look at poor Reggie Bullock (I think) who tried to meet James at the rim. He just bounces off LeBron like a fly. He had no chance at all to stop this dunk.

Because Bullock had no chance that rim will never be the same. It is now broken forever by James’ violence. RIP rim. You were a good rim, unfortunately Wednesday your time ran out.
