The Sacramento Kings unveiled a new team logo on Tuesday afternoon, and to be honest, it’s quite awesome-seeming:

This new identifier is officially the most appealing thing about the Kings. Forget about playing with DeMarcus Cousins or Rudy Gay, or for their next head coach. Free agents will sign on to join the cause for the right to bear those symbols. And because Sacramento will likely overpay. But mostly the logo thing.

To celebrate this new era of aesthetics, Sacramento is paying for a limited number of fans to get new Kings tattoos. That is a real sentence, and this is a very real initiative (h/t FanSided):

It is not entirely clear if those tattoo parlors will also have on-site therapists who counsel patrons on making better life decisions free of charge.

Don’t get me wrong. Tattoos are cool. I’ve got ’em. A ton of them. But the urge to permanently brand one’s self with anything remotely related to a perpetually lottery-lost tire fire just doesn’t resonate with me. To each their own, I guess.

Anyhow, if you’re one of the Kings fans who gets a tattoo, feel free to shoot us pictures over at our Twitter account. You can also email them to yours truly at Don’tDoYouDareEmailMePicsOfTheseTattoos@OrElse.com.
