Sunday’s Game 7 between the Charlotte Hornets and Miami Heat was never really close. The Heat won by 33 points, sending them off to the Conference Semifinals.

Where the game lacked in tension, it made up for in Friendly Bounces. Of the 70 made field goals, three were the result of a strange ricochet or roll. Weirder yet, all happened in the first quarter.

First up was Kemba Walker. Walker had been incredible all series long but struggled in the pivotal deciding game. But one of his three baskets was a beauty, by our standards. Kemba came off a Big Al Jefferson screen and put up the midrange J. It hit the front of the rim, bounced off the box and went in.

Less than two minutes later, the second Friendly Bounce struck. This time, Charlotte big man Frank Kaminsky was the perpetrator.

Kaminsky set a screen for Kemba on the left wing and popped out to the three point line. Now double teamed, Walker kicked it out to Frank for the shot.

Finally, with a few minutes remaining in the quarter, Josh Richardson got in on the fun.

Iso Joe Johnson was operating in the mid-post on Marvin Williams with Richardson sitting at the top of the key. Josh’s defender, Jeremy Lin, left him to double down on the Armadillo Cowboy. NEVER DOUBLE ONE PASS AWAY, JEREMY. Johnson threw it out to a wide-open Richardson, and voila!
