Tim Duncan: NBA superstar, future Hall of Famer, wearer of Costco jeans and best person in the history of humanity.

These are unequivocal facts—except for maybe the Costco jeans thing. That’s just a hunch.

Anywho, Pounding The Rock’s Quixem Ramirez unearthed this anecdote, which appears to be nearly 500 days old, about Duncan (apparently) footing the bill on life-saving surgery for some stranger’s dog:

This is the best thing ever, and I have absolutely no idea why we’re only hearing about it now.

Of course, his love of dogs is not undocumented. Exhibit A:

This. Is. Lit.

Which brings me back to us not hearing about this until now (though feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). A quick Google search will show that this never went viral, which is a damn shame. It’s also so Duncan.

Truth told, Timmy will probably retire the same way. No warning, no fanfare, no nothing. He’ll just abscond to his own covert tropical island off the coast of I’m Not Telling You, where he will likely spend his days fiddling with a first-edition Game Boy and treating the occasional Toucan that is obviously native to his private enclave.

Now, a question for all the Kobe Bryant truthers: How many random pet pooches has your boy saved?

#CountTheRings? More like #CountTheRandomlyRescuedDogs.
