This afternoon is Opening Day for the Charlotte Hornets as they welcome the Atlanta Hawks to town for a little matinee action. It’s a rematch of the game from just a few nights ago, when the Hawks escaped with a 97-94 victory.

As is customary for the first game of the season, the Hornets are going above and beyond to welcome both the fans and the players back for another season. Part of that means making sure the Time Warner Cable Arena is all cleaned up, and part of that means a free giveaway for the fans.

Well the Hornets decided to kill two birds with one stone, because they’re handing out teal tuxedos to all fans at today’s game. Fans will be happy and they’ll look great as well! (Okay, so they aren’t real tuxedos.)

I didn’t know tuxedo shirts were still a thing, but hey, you have to give the Hornets some credit for being creative. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a tuxedo tee giveaway at an NBA game before.

Update:

Well apparently the Hornets did the same thing last year. Except for the teal. It’s an ode to the first Hornets game of all time.
