For as long as we can remember, NBA players have embarrassed children. There was the time Shabazz Muhammed blocked one child. Or when Kevin Durant blocked a bunch last summer.  James Harden showed how to embarrass people without blocking them as he did to this poor sucker. But finally we have a kid brave enough to take a stand against NBA players and poor Avery Bradley became the embarrassed one.

Yup, Avery Bradley was the dreaded first round elimination in knockout. But this is embarrassing for many reasons beyond the fact it was the first round. Let’s run through them.

More from NBA

  1. Avery Bradley is a good point guard for a professional basketball team. He should make that low pressure free throw. There aren’t even double rims to blame this on.
  2. That kid cannot be more than like 8. He barely reaches the rim. But swish, right in.
  3. The kid is wearing a leprechaun hat. Playing basketball in hats is crazy enough. Playing in that hat is ridiculous. Being a professional basketball player and losing to a kid in that hat. Not a great look.
  4. The first round thing again. Bradley was fresh. That just can’t happen.
  5. The lack of urgency. Bradley clearly thought that he was going to coast to a win in the knockout game so he didn’t try too hard. I’m not asking him to go all out, but walking is a bad look. Especially when you get knocked out in the first round.

If opposing fans are smart this year they should definitely use this to their advantage. Just show up to Celtics road games wearing ridiculous leprechaun hats. Once Bradley sees that hat it will shame him and cause him to play not as hard.

As for the kid? Someone should get him a crown for taking back the dignity of young basketball playing children. And also because it is less ridiculous than that hat.
